This Manic Monday is inspired by Thanksgiving....I KNOW we ALL can get wrapped up in the Christmas season early - the decorating, crafting, shopping, etc BUT I believe it's important to take the PAUSE and enjoy Thanksgiving....reflect over the blessings of the past year, be grateful for WHO and what you DO HAVE (not what you wish you had or wish you were) be grateful in the MOMENT. I LOVE Christmas as much as the next girl BUT I can tell you this, what I am looking most forward to this week is time with my family. We will NOT be shopping on Thursday....and I hope YOU will think twice about it too...I think retailers need to remember the holidays are for FAMILY not money. Ending on a happier note will be pics of my Thanksgiving decor....very minimal this year as time has gotten away from me BUT there are still a few turkeys scattered about mi casa....
VINTAGE Turkey Platter vignette in the kitchen (the first year I had this platter my mom was OVER THE MOON for it SO the next year I gave it to her for her Birthday....and then one day she found her own Vintage Turkey Platter and gave mine back!!). I pooped the salt and Pepper shakers under a large glass vase (to act as a cloche) at first I was going to spray paint these authentic colored birds until I realized how nicely they coordinated with the platter....
I WISH I could say this is my display BUT it's not...it's a neighbors down the block....while walking the dog one morning I had to pause and take a pic because I thought this was SO ADORABLE (and something I would totally do)
My sideboard with a few autumnal pops....when you decorate with white dishes its SO EASY to accessorize for the seasons....
Made this banner back in September.....perhaps I should've swapped out the word Autumn with "Thanks"...maybe next year....
Two years ago my daughter had the idea to make turkey hands and decorate them....this HANDS down (pun intended) is one if my favorite projects we've done!!!
Do YOU still have your Thanksgiving decor up OR have you moved on to Christmas?!?!
