FOODIE FRIDAY....SALADS

Salads seem pretty basic -right?!?!? WRONG!!! Salads don't have to be boring!!! Below are some salads I have made over time (most within the past week). 

SOUTHWEST PEPPER JACK SALAD with a homemade Avocado Dressing 

(the recipe can be found on my Pinterest Board)

A nice fresh salad with strawberries, unsweetened coconut chips, and a handful of sea salt melba toast crackers crunched up for well, THE CRUNCH!! Topped lightly with a balsamic vinagrette

BOTH these salads were made with the same greens (organic baby spring mix from Target AND on clearance for $1.99)

Below I added 1 roma tomato (my tom of choice), 2 strips of turkey bacon (I cook the lb ahead of time and freeze and pull out the slices as needed - that way they are always ready for me) and topped with @TraderJoes Cilantro dressing. BOTH took under 5 minutes to make and were PERFECT!! Flavorful, filling and GOOD FOR YOU!!!

THRIFTY TUESDAY.....Thrift Store Finds

I NEED Thrifters Anonymous!!! It's like a SICKNESS!! I go every time I go to the gym...I'm working the thrift stores like it's a FULL TIME JOB!!!

@TARGET earlier in the morning I spotted this cute romper....It was CUTE enough to make me walk back and take a pic!

I guess #rompers stayed on my mind BECAUSE later at the thrift I picked up this cutie (on the top)!!!! I paid .99  - TRUE STORY!! Even IF I only wore it to bed it's a win!!! 

 I've also noticed I buy in color themes!!! Coral and blue were the mains!! 

For Easter this year we are wearing corals....I already have a dress (but it's sleeveless and midwest March Easter SO chances are I will need a jacket!!). The top left Jacket is originally from Chico's..LOVE the color, the shimmer, it's labeled a size 3 (which is XL 16/18) BUT I think whoever sent it to the thrift washed and dried it and it shrunk a bit! WIN for me!

 The other ay at Goodwill I scored this #Coach purse (for my bestie) and see those canvas gym shoes in the background?!?!? (they are Coach too). S C O R E!!!

TRY IT THURSDAY....KITCHEN CURTAIN

The 5th (YEP 5th ) time was the CHARM!!!

I am ga-ga over my new kitchen curtain!!!! The colors are GLORIOUS!!! (I've always done the Robins Egg Blue BUT I am finding I am drawn to pink - which is a BIG shocker for anyone who knows me...and yellow....my kitchen is accents of yellow and pink). 

The photo below was right after we moved in (I was actually taking pics of my new highlights BUT look way in the background at the window). Those were the cafe curtains from my last house (I LOVE them BUT they no longer make them so I couldn't add to them...see how they were peek-a-boo curtains?!?!)

Then there was a vintage curtain...and that was too skinny and too long (and since I have 4 panels I didn't want to go slicing one up, because someday I may need a set of 4). SO then I had the idea to use a vintage tablecloth.....It was for a card table and again too narrow

(this window has been the BIGGEST PITA to outfit...it's taller and narrower than a standard window AND it's right above the sink so the length has to be just right). 

ENTER the dream....first I bought the napkins to this pattern thinking I could put them together to make 2 cute lil panels....the pack of 4 wasn't enough AND when I went back to grab another they were GONE! SO I bought the tablecloth instead!!! Knowing I could trim and heatbond it to the right size (because I don't know how to sew). Moving during the winter is AWFUL (not only the ACTUAL moving in that frigid weather) BUT the fact that my garage is a storage and I can't find a thing!) I have countless packs of these clippy O-rings (I pick them up whenever I see them at the thrift because I know I can always use them and they're expensive in the store). SO I made due with the 3 rings I had (it looks like a total make-shift job...I can only imagine what the neighbors think).

I popped in my fave thrift last week (I didn't even grab a cart because I am trying to stay away from the thrift stores - I have spent crazy cash there lately). I found an UNOPENED pack of (mini) goldtone clip rings (these are legit older - made in the good 'ol USA). NOW I can finally gather and clip the curtain as I saw it in my mind the ENTIRE time!!!

I folded the top over and clipped (I see where I got a lil crazy...this was a 2 person job and my daughter was O V E R it!!). No matter - I LOVE it!!! It's an @aprilcornell table cloth.

What was YOUR solution for a troublesome window?!??!

WIWW....WHAT I WORE WEDNESDAY

WOW! It has been a whole week since I posted! I'm wondering if I should continue this lil blog of mine....I sometimes feel like there isn't an "audience" and honestly I can spend HOURS getting sucked into cyber-land. I am trying to make my time count....SO if you don't see any posts from me you'll know why.....OR if there's something that I've done that your particularly liked and want to see more lemme know! A 54 degree Saturday started like this....Enjoying the sun, trying to soak up the vitamin D

Then a txt from my BFF asking to meet for coffee and couponing had me like....Lemme get my clothes on in hurry....
