A day in the life....

For those of you who are new here or haven't been here on "A Day In The Life" this is a recap of my week in pics!! 

I've had this silver reindeer candle stand out for the past 3 weeks trying to figure out where to put it WHEN it struck me to use it in the bathroom to corral the containers (hand soap, spray and christmas cheer)

I hung up some tealy-navy garland I picked up last year at Walmart for .50 to hang the holiday cards from - that's one thing I ADORE about Christmas - seeing how families have grown over the past year and receiving that handwritten card!

Hot Cocoa and whip cream were the advent calendar activity of the day!

Ready to hit the mall and get some Christmas shopping done (layers, small purse and comfy shoes - outfit deets to come Wednesday)

I think the shopping trip was successful - NO?

And Santa left me a lil prezzie under the tree (like 14 YEARS AGO!!)

Can you believe Christmas is ONLY 12 days away?!?! ( 11 for me because we celebrate Christmas Eve)....SO, I decided it was time to put up pics of my holiday decor 2012....

 No room went untouched when it came to Christmas decor! I added the lil felts trees (that I got ast year after Christmas for maybe $1.00)....

 Yes, that's my kitty in the tree....The tree has been up since the day after Thanksgiving and this past Saturday something caught kitty's eye and she scaled up the tree like 5X!!!

WIWW Accessorizing

I know it's Thursday....I have been very busy with work (holla at the girl with the promotion)....Anyway, Last week I heard something that has kinda stuck me with - accessorize! I think the majority of us that blog for WIWW already accessorize, but is there ONE more thing we could add?  Case in point....Thursday's outfit

This outfit looked fine, right? 

 BUT why be "fine" when you can be EXTRA ORDINARY?!?!? 

 What I added - Peacock Scarf (Family Dollar - my FAVE place for scarves)
Belt - Chico's (hard to see but defined my waist)
AND I added a necklace after the pic was taken!! SO as you can see by adding a few pieces, it takes your outfit from "fine" to pulled together and got it goin' on!!

Friday

** After the pic was I added a long sleeve leopard shirt UNDER the sweater (the leopard coordinated with my boots - it was chilly and adding the ls tee was "just right")

Thrifty Tuesday....Pearl and Holly Pillows

WELCOME back to Thrifty Tuesday!! Last week I was inspired to make a felt Holly wreath to put on my throw pillows in the family room, to add the teal color I am LOVING!! BUT I am on a very thrifty budget...like .34 budget!! I picked up this piece of felt at the craft store....drew up a holly leaf on a cereal box and traced it onto my felt....

I cut the felt and got enough "holly" leaves to make two wreaths....

Here is one on a cream pillow (I've had this pillow FOREVER - the other side is covered with chenille tone on tone safari animals....it was cheap and when I bought it I was hungry for throw pillows and Shabby Chic was all the rage...I didn't use it much -the size was weird for the furniture I had before...anyway...re-duce, re-use, recycle!!).

The leopard pillow is a no brainer-  momma loves her some leopard!!

Here it is WITH flash (so you can see it). 

 How I made them: I cut the felt leaves out, arranged them in a circle on EACH pillow and then used a small dot of hot glue leaf to leaf to create the circle (I did NOT glue them to the pillow as I want to be able to remove them next month withOUT ruining the pillows).

It's beginning to look a LOT like CHRISTMAS

WELCOME to the holidays in my home....

Here is my untraditional tree....I HEART my white tree...I KNOW it's not for everyone BUT I LOVE it.....

Chipmunks and Apothecary jars - I remember listening to the Chipmunks album as a kid....I scored this album at an estate sale because my childhood album is LONG GONE :(

The day after Thanksgiving we put the tree up...I put the lights and let the kids trim the tree (SO HARD for this control freak BUT it is about the kids, right?!?!)

My lil guy wanted to put his on the top....Momma was there to help him....

My FAB wings that I posted about earlier this week

Here was the tree right after the kids adorned it...after looking at it for a day or so I realized something was missing (which is when I remembered I bought the FAB leopard ribbon pictured above) So I added the ribbon....

This wreath hangs in my front entryway all the time....and is FAB as it is....

BUT I wanted to incorporate my jingle bell wreath in the house somewhere....SO I said hhhnmm, I wonder if it will fit inside my book page wreath - et viola!! Here it is.....
