I am just a girl from the Midwest who blogs...SHE is living the dream a lot of us bloggers would LOVE the opportunity to have....A show on BRAVO (smooches Andy Cohen) based on her blog - fashion, life, etc....sounds DREAMY right?!?!? I've tuned in each week...KNEW I'd dedicate a blog post to the show and after episode 7 where she was a total JERK to her bestie (who's been her sidekick the entire time) I decided I am not as enanmoured with her as I originally thought!! I am kind of disappointed in her behavior, the fact that she has taken this AMAZING opportunity and made a mockery of it. Ok, there I've said my peace and I'd LOVE to hear what y'all think!! 

ps, she says some words I sat that makes me wanna stop saying them....I'm not hating...I was so stoked to see a blogger get her shot at fame and she's 'meh'

TRY IT THURSDAY....Yarn POM POM Wreath

I've seen these pom pom wreaths floating around blogland and KNEW it would be the PERFECT wreath for January - the month of no decor!! LOL! SO, first things first....get your wreath....

(THIS one is from the Dollar Tree and a pretty good size)

MAKE your pom poms (I wanted FUN FUNKY colors and I tend to decorate this house in teals and lime greens). You can google pom pom making - there are several methods - I used the one where you cut your own cardboard rings and wrap the yarn around - TIME consuming for sure BUT get your kids in on it -both mine helped...they'd get bored and make a couple more the next day....it took us about a week and a half to complete (working very IRREGULARLY)

Lay out you poms on your wreath form....to see what sizes you need to make and colors....

Tie them on, add a festive coordinating scarf and VIOLA!!! You have a FAB January door hanging

A DAY In The LIFE....

Pics via my  iphone from the week...some weeks I've got nada and other weeks it's MAJOR over load!!
I think this week is kinda overload-ish....

Freezing temps in the midwest make ya wanna hunker down and cook a coast with gravy...that's EXACTLY what I did Sunday...it was SO good! My lil guy even helped make the gravy!!

I'm having toothpaste schizophrenia....I currently have all these....and I think my fave is the Colgate Optic white....Do y'all have any recomendations? I want something that whitens, cleans the plaque and will help rebuild the enamel on my teeth (is that even possible?!?! To rebuild enamel? I've seen it on teh commercials)

On a -11 (thats right peeps it was -11 here monday) my daughter wanted to blow bubbles and see if they'd freeze in the air...in case you're curious about the results, nope - they didn't

I'm SO over winter!! So I decided to paint my toes "twisted pink" WHILE watching the Bachelor...anyone else have Juan Pablo fever!?!?!?

Speaking of love....LOOK at this cute lil baby face!!!! How much so we LOVE him?!?!?!

I hit my head - 3 times in less than 24 hours!! The last bump caught up with me - OUCH!!

 LOVING my lil vintage like coffee maker....add some cafe bustelo and we're good to go!!

A s'more is a perfectly acceptable treat to go with coffee, RIGHT?!??!

 When I left work the other day I found this pretty wallet....I have been in touch with the rightful owner and it will be returned today

Can I just tell you how much I LOVE elf's liquid eyeliner?!??! PERFET blend, nice brush and one dolla- HOLLA!!

DO you ever get a taste for something DELISH but can't quite put your finger on it?!?!? I KNEW I wanted something like alfredo, so I consulted with my Skinny Italian cookbook...

And here was my version...not bad BUT I wish it was creamier!

In honor of the new year, it's back to healthy eating....this fits the bills while still being YUMMY (and disregard the s'more pic above! LOL)

Been working on this baby for a week and a half....a how to will be posted next week!

TRY IT THURSDAY....Garland photo backdrop

I'm sure this isn't new to anyone BUT I didn't realize how EASY this was!! I've seen the garland backdrops all over blog world and Pinterest, in fact I even pinned it but never did it....SOME projects are so easy that they just sit there....do you do that too?!??!

It was UBER easy....I gathered my supplies (garland, a broom handle {idea via Oh happy day} and hot glue gun). I wanted the garland to be long enough for a FULL length shot - if you're just doing headshots you can use 4'. I cut my lengths at 7'

NOW'S the PERFECT time to go get garland for your photo "booth" backdrops!! It's 75% off!! This is a FUN idea for weddings, birthday parties, showers, etc. (My garland is from the 2011 holiday season -  this past summer I couldn't GIVE this stuff away...and not I'm SO GLAD I didn't!!!). I know NYE was last week (although to me it seems LIGHT years ago) BUT it's never too late for a festive garland backdrop!! Oh, and since we're talking NYE, I got this FAB hand soap at Bath& Body works...FITTING for any celebratory occasion and GORG colors!

Decorating for the holidays (ANY holiday) only takes imagination and a good eye!! FOR example...If you are hosting a NYE party next year GO NOW - RUN and buy New year hats (without the year on them) for nxt year....I got these BOTH for .25....the sparkly bottle I copy catted from The Hunted Interior (her's was with confetti...I ONLY had glitter on hand)...oh and that bottle is Welch's kiddie wine....a silver tray makes ANYTHING look fancy, the champagne bubbles were purchased new in the package at the thrift store one summer for .59

And the lil glass dish was a thrift shop find as well....USE you favors as decor until your guests arrive - it sets a festive mood...

HAPPY NEW (WIWW) YEAR!! It's been a bit since I've linked up with http://thepleatedpoppy.com/2014/01/what-i-wore-30/ but it's a NEW year!! They say "New Year, New you!!" I'm sure like many of you, I packed on the holiday pounds (that happens when you eat 3 dozen homemade deliscious cookies in a week). BUT it's back to eating better, no more cookies and getting creative with my closet!
