WHAT I WORE WEDNESDAY....

These posts sure are LACKING because in case you haven't been on in a bit, I moved December 31st (I Know, CRAZY RIGHT?!??! BUT what a way to start a new year!!!). SO I have been wearing painting clothes - A LOT!!!

What I'm wearing:
Jacket - Zenergy - Chico's
Statement Necklace - Walmart
T-Neck - My FAVE and thrifted

THESE shoes....SWOON!!! I NEVER wear heels and certainly NOT a skinny heel BUT I think momma needs these!!!

I am checking out Lind's blog here http://thepleatedpoppy.com/category/what-i-wore/ for some inspiration!!! I think I forgot how to dress!! LOL!! Can't wait to see what YOU wore!

THRIFTY TUESDAY....COUPONING and CVS HAUL

I've done a few couponing posts....and then I kinda get away from it....and then I see insta posts or Extreme Couponing and think "DANG I NEED to do this!!" What you hear is true though - it really can be like a J O B!!! Tracking down a Sunday paper in my town or surrounding areas can be a real CHALLENGE (Need to subscribe to the sunday paper...OR if you guys don't coupon I'd LOVE your inserts!!! Please pretty please send them to me - I'd give you my PO box). Once I find the paper....
A) I clip the coupons
B) Go through the sales flyers and comp who has the best deals / rewards
C) Make a list (including the size on sale, the rewards offered and quantity)
D) Go back through all my coupons and see what I have that matches up to the ads (sometimes they are from the current insert, others times they are from inserts a few weeks ago OR an in-store offer I received via email)
E) I take it one step further and subtract the sale amount, the coupon and any other offers AND then add sales tax (this way I know EXACTLY what I will be paying PROVIDING I stick to the list)

CVS Haul Jan 16, 2016

OH YEAH....Who's done pretty good for a rookie?!?! My total BEFORE the coupons was 60.00
SEE what I paid?!?! $28 and some change!! (and actually by implementing step "E" I knew the cashier missed a coupon (a BIG one - a $3.00 one).
Think about this...You would pay 28.00 for the two #Airwicks and #AxebodyWashes. My girlfriend and I are committing to doing this not inly for ourselves BUT for our families too (and by this we mean extended families) and eventually be able to give back to our community. WE both have teenage daughters so we go through toiletries like CRAZY!!! My fiancee came with me and when he saw $60.00 he about died!! I told him I only needed $40.00, he waited by the magazines....and when I handed him the $11.00 in change he was SHOCKED!!! That felt pretty amazing!!!
The funny thing is tonight when I was in Target I came across a REAL LIFE couponer!!! She had her binder, her clear inserts fulla coupons and her hubby was with. I told her I was going to follow her through the store and learn her ways....she was SO KIND and gave me a fews tips and tricks of the trade and wished me luck!

Do YOU coupon?!?!

MANI MONDAY....ORLY and OPI

Howdy peeps!!! I don't know about you but my safari and posting weren't jiving SO after a lil research I installed google chrome and VIOLA!!! Thank you internet!! So we will play catch up - mmmkay?!?!? And yes Jen, these are for you!!!

Kinda digging the combo!! What are you sportin on your nails?!?! Do you prefer real, gel or tips?!!? Weigh in!

A DAY IN THE LIFE>>>>

.....Pics via my iphone from the past week....

There are no WHAT I WORE WEDNESDAY (WIWW) posts BECAUSE everyday it's a different (sometimes SAME) set of painting clothes!!!

Check out last Monday's post http://objectofmayaffection.blogspot.com/2016/01/mani-mondaysinful-prosecco.html for Mani deets! Just because I'm painting doesn't mean momma's nails aren't getting done!!!

WHOOP WHOOP a day out last Sunday felt like a prison release (trying to get home and life in order after a MAJOR move has me staring at those 4 walls LOTS).

Monday started like this....planning, posting and COFFEE

The rest of the week brought ORGANIZING....

MORE organizing (there will be pretty FULL blog posts about EACH of these projects once they are COMPLETE)

FINALLY started putting our personal stamp on the place!!! Finished painting this wall and could't wait to decorate....Our fam pics will go where the striped paper is and in the empty silver frames...family and prayer are the STAPLES!!!

There started to be major mishaps toward the end of the family wall (yes, that dirt out lining the cross that was laid out for hanging (I put the basket over so the dirt could try before I vacuumed it up and so I didn't grind it further into the carpet). The kids were amazed by the cross outlines!!!

Went and got my hair did!!! Some SUBTLE highlights amid the black that I LOVE and a trim...

SO SUBTLE you can barely see the highlights....

Oh yeah....about that kitchen mess you see on the background above....HERE it is in ALL it's glory!!
Lotsa cabinets and counter space SO trying to figure out HOW to make the kitchen work best for US!!! (and the cabinets aren't as deep as I'm used to SO that makes platters and serving pieces a challenge).

Hunting and gathering for my master bath has been SO FUN!!! It ALL started with this #threshhold shower curtain....Snagged this rug for .38 - TRUE STORY!!!

One morning while working on my vision board the pooch hopped up on the chair and decided he was hanging with me for the day....

NO JOKE! He sat there for at least an hour!!!

FINALLY unpacked the last moving truck Thursday....SO EXCITED to get my hands on the magenta paint and slap it on the walls...and I found THIS.....

WAH!!! Apparently it froze the last 2+ weeks sitting in the truck. It was the PERFECT pink! DAMN! Now you KNOW it's in my beak to find another pink like this!!!

And HOLLA! Am I the LAST WOMAN alive to just now realize how HAWT Leo DiCaprio is?!?!?! I mean I've heard all the jazz about him BUT this rugged sexxy pic did it for me!!!
 AND he's still single?!?! WHAT?!?!?!

Lemme preface by saying hanging anything symmetrical for me spells CHAOS!!! After several tries we got these shelves right!! My man said "it's not a museum - it's a house" I said "um when I put the pics on my blog everyone (my one reader) will notice they're crooked" so back to the drill we went to get it RIGHT!!!

DID this project too!! For TRY IT THURSDAY...get the deets here http://objectofmayaffection.blogspot.com/2016/01/try-it-thursdaychanging-your-builder.html

What have YOU been up to this week?!?!

TRY IT THURSDAY.....Changing your builder grade light fixture WITHOUT wiring

I am LOVING FINALLY being able to personalize my space with paint and doing my own thang!!! EVERY house has at least ONE builder grade light fixture and this is ONE (of a few lighting projects to follow). This is the front entry.....

Lotsa "research" via Pinterest and blogs have been what I've been up to lately....and where I found the tutorial for changing your lights WITHOUT fooling with the wiring (I'm not the FIRST to do this BUT thought it'd be fun to blog about none the less). SO once I get something in my mind, I can't let it go until I make it happen (OR maybe because it's on my mind that make it come to fruition?!?!). I was at HobLob Tuesday and SCORED on light shades (below is one of the three I got on UBER clearance).
My house seems to always have this Robin's Egg Blue (REB) color in it (although before I moved in I was sure I was doing a rusty orange and deep purple...because that was the oops paint I found and the curtains I got for a song BUT alas in the end I decided the living room needed a lighter color than purple and I do have a lot of REB accents SO it only makes sense to keep with the coloring because that way the accessories are inter-changable between rooms AND the house is cohesive.
I followed the tutorials like I saw on-line....attaching wire to my "spider arm" so I could simply hang the wire from the pre-existing screws (that were holding the original glass globe in place). After 45 minutes in an awkward position and A LOT of expletives I figured out that this wiring thang wasn't working...one wire was too long, one was too short, one didn't reach as far as I needed....

SO I remembered I had these decorative ornament holders from Christmas (because stuff is still kinda ALL OVER the place). I just hung these lil cuties on the screws and viola!
(after putting the lamp shade up it was too close to screw in the lightbulb SO I had to add another set to extend the length). I popped the shade up....

Did a lil before and after pic...and I pretty much think I am IN LOVE with the look!!!

THRIFTY TUESDAY....MIRRORED WALL CHANDELIER

I'm SO GUILTY of doing this....buying something because it's 'SUCH A DEAL' and 'someday I'll find a use for it' BUT I have tried to be better about that (which has led to LOTTSA non-buyers remorse....every time I've gone back for something because I've went home to think about it when I come back it's GONE. Mmmmkay one MIGHT say then it wasn't meant to be and sometimes that's true BUT in most cases NOT (especially with this GORG vintage settee I wanted)....anyway I'm digressing....back to the chandy....I found this pretty FAB #mirroredchandy at #marshalls like 5 years ago and bought it (because it was $2.50 - STEAL and I KNEW eventually I could do SOMETHING with it). Enter new home...PERFECT lil bart cart area AND wall space (the last place had an open floor plan which made decorating a challenge sometimes)....

(come back next week to see the bar cart and wall STYLED)

The chandy came in a few different pieces (the "chain" had several pieces to adjust to YOUR length and there were a few crystal drops to add on {the bottom and a few on the sides)

Pretty right?!?! But if you know me you know enough never is - I ALWAYS need that EXTRA layer! SO I dug through my stash and found these grey hematite-like rhinestones....

...and added them in-between the crystal drops at the bottom and on the sides (NOW I knew I was going to do this so I left enough space in between).

MUCH fancier - don't you think?!?!?
Right is without gems and left is WITH....which look do YOU like?!?!?
I HEART comments and feedback so if you've seen something you like or thought was particularly FABULOUS I'd LOVE to hear from you because sometimes I think I'm just writing to an audience of one!!

MANI MONDAY....SINFUL PROSECCO

It you follow my IG or have read the last few posts you know I have been moving for what feels like ever (OK, the move is done although there is STILL one truck load to be emptied). It's the PAINTING that's making me crazy (a self inflicted crazy....the walls were a nice fresh white). Anyway, even though I have been elbows deep in projects (and my nails have broken off and down into shorty-McShorts) that's NO REASON NOT to have a mani!!!! SO back to our regularly scheduled programming....MANI MONDAY and #sinfulSHINE nail color of the week.

Every good mani starts off with a base coat (my personal preference is #sallyhansen hard as nails). When using a polish with glitter or shimmer I always try to use a first coat of a similar colored polish (so I only have to do one nice topcoat of the shimmer or glitter). My first coat choice was #sallyhansen #salonmanicure in #greigegardens (are we noticing a pattern?!?!? I LOVE Sally Hansen polishes....relatively quick dry, lasts a good 5 days with no chipping, variety of colors and great price point). The topcoat was a new line by #sinful called SINFULSHINE in Prosecco (a PERFECT grey with a hint of golden shimmer - the best of BOTH worlds...which oddly I'm finding myself using in decorating my new home as swell!!).

Have you tried sinful polishes?!?!?! What's your go-to polish?!?!?
See that lil rash on my arm...from my #fitbit ....does anyone else have this happen to them OR am I just maybe allergic to the plastic?
