FOODIE FRIDAY....#GETFIT

Y'all I am TRYING to stay current with posts but I'm not being so good at it....follow me on instagram for MORE up to the minute stuff! SO for the past 2 weeks I have been  on this fitness journey...I believe what "they" say...that 70% of your body transformation starts in the kitchen....SO that requires quite a bit of prep work BUT it's SO WORTH it knowing you have healthy (sodium and preservative free) foods at your disposal to take to school, work or when you get home. Below I am going to share with you a few pics of the meals I have prepared...and I would LOVE for you to share some of your healthy recipes with me - just leave me your link!!


A lil compilation of my meals....

I LOVE me some carbs and am not ready to give them up...so portion control has been KEY

Guac is a good fat - it's the chips that kill it... SO if you limit your chip intake you can indulge in a lil treat like this (in my guac I add red onion, diced tomatoes, cilantro, lime juice a lil salt and some pepper and garlic powder)

 I take my lunch to work in portion servings....in a tupperware I add a meat, a carb and a veggie...I bring a greek yogurt and fruits....

Again portion control is exercised here...I sued 2 small 8" tortilla shells and a lil butter to brown them and filled them with shredded chicken (prepared earlier in the week) some shredded cheese, onions and jalapeno...it's about making the meal FLAVORFUL quality OVER quantity

This is a typical Sunday or sometimes Monday for me...meal planning, marinating, washing and cutting veggies and putting together jars or refridgerator oatmeal

Another work lunch....still fruits, greek yogurt and in the tupperware a mix of ground turkey and lean ground beef with onions, jalapenos and yellow peppers...this serving of rice was large SO I skipped my afternoon oats and just had fruit...

I KNOW this doesn't look healthy BUT it's portion controlled...a very small baked potato (no butter JUST gravy)

TRY IT THURSDAY....MIXED MEDIA JOURNALING

Being a blogger we KNOW about some kinda scrapping, journaling, day in the life project we could be doing to document our lives....whether it be THAT special moment or something as mundane as doing the dishes....I've done several....the old skool scrapbooking (was hard for me to keep up with), Smashbook (I was always too worried to RUIN it so I wanted to wait for something "special enough" and even then wasn't sure it was what I wanted) and Project Life (FUN ideas, more mundane BUT I was worried about keeping my photos and journaling "in order" by date so it told a complete story). Perhaps a lil piece from all of these would be perfect for actually photo journaling my life...HOWEVER to organize my random thoughts, keep all those magazine clippings or wish lists together AND journal I came up with using a journal book....

Inspiration can be found EVERY WHERE....especially in this bib big blog world! 

I started with THIS journal because I liked the lil reminders on the front....

I use it to make my to-do lists....

To document events and memories....

When planning out inspiration for the basement family room (and I use this term VERY loosely)....start with some inspiration 


and it plays out on paper as in your head...

Making wish lists of things I want...

Keeping track of goals (even as silly as growing my hair because believe you me I wanna CUT it as I type this)

THRIFTY TUESDAY...Mint Green and Gold Jewelry

It's been forever since I have posted....I was in the ER the day before NYE....my son caught that AWFUL high fever version of the flu NYE night, my internet is down AGAIN (nothing new there) and even though I started out 2015 OFF of work (because FINALLY the retail rush was over and my baby was sick) I have gotten quite a bit accomplished! THIS post will just be a catch up of pics and such...come back this weeks for lotsa fun!! Thrifty Tuesday will bring minty jewels, TRY it THURSDAY will be a journal post, FOODIE Friday will have lotsa (HEALTHY) food prep....


CUTE Spa in a Jar my KR8tive Kids made for me for Christmas...SO thoughtful (notice the gold pedi toe seperators, face masks, file, there was polish in there, cute nail strips all in a FAB aqua ball glass jar)

FINALLY found my coffee pods....my old skool Senseo is still plugging along (and I can't just justify buying a Keurig when my brewer STILL works however the harder it becomes to find the actual coffee that goes in there I may have second thoughts)

I've been hearing all about Moscow Mule's and have YET to try one....The copper mug is SIGNATURE to the drink....

Everyday I'm hustlin....getting inspired, planning out the week AND journaling....

Stopped by Target's Dolla Spot and THIS was all I found....

Like everyone I'm at the gym in January BUT I'm committed to making a lifestyle change NOT a fad diet...
