Tank Top LOVE

Tanks are my FAVE summer staple. I wanted to find a way to dress them up SO, I made up a bunch of those yo-yo's and tacked them onto my tank...can we LOVE?!?! Fresh fun summer colors! I will be offering a yo-yo bar at the shop. Lots of assorted color and patterned yo-yo's that you can purchase to customize your own tanks, tees, cardi's or fabric, pillows, blankets, etc! I will also have a few that are ready made. Stop by and check them out!

For this tank I added a vintage piece of fabric. As LUCK would have it there was a "shoe clip" type thingee attached to the back of the fabric so I can easily swap it between tanks. I think this would be so cute and dressy on a black tank.

Where The Creativity Flows....

I am participating in this FAB event....
and I feel far too silly for even signing up as my space is very...what's the word? Ah yes, humble. You see I am moving to my new home this Sunday and all the stuff that will fill my creative space just isn't there yet BUT I do hope you'll come back to my blog next week and check it out....we're talking a vintage gumball machine that holds all my nearest and dearest "treasures", my creativity boards, trinkets and treasures galore! BUT I do have a few photos for y'all now! HERE is my new creative play space....my shop that I just opened last month!
I have 3 "rooms" within the space, the first 2 are my merchandised shop front area (one of which I have BIG plans for) and the third is my "backroom" which is where are the MAGIC will be happening!



My desk will go right next to my new fab painted cart!
I will make all my charm jewelry back here

And we all NEED creative packaging!

A place to store my off season merchandise and to "to-do" projects

When space is at a premium, you have to get a lil creative.....

Hittin the road....

Maya and I painted out toes a FUN (Sally Hansen "Blue Me Away") color and embellished with a fun decals and glitter....
We are staying here...
My guy and I, the kids and his family and Cody too....
Any guesses as to what this is?
Isn't this a fun picture?! It looks like it could have been taken at an antique shop right? I will tell y'all later where it was taken (so as not to give a clue to the above picture)

My Anthropologie Window

These Anthro inspired water bottle flowers have been all over blogland....and while they are cool, I didn't realize how FAB the display was until I actually saw it in person at the Anthro in Geneva Commons. It was over their cash wrap area and WOW! I think there were several hundred bottles...different styles, colors in varying heights. Last weekend (after sucking down plenty o'fluids) I tried my hand at a garland for my front window....
I am pleased with the results and have gotten really positive comments!

After I changed the front window from my patriotic homage, I had to find somewhere else for my Americana....
I LOVE the way the display came out....I think it's even better here than it was in the window....

And in my down time at the shop today, I turned this (free to me)UGLY duckling....
Into this Gorgeous swan!
This will be in my "backroom" with a tv on it for the kids. Since they'll be spending plenty of days with mom at the store I have decided to decorate the backroom as I would any room in my own home....stay tuned for progress on that!

GoodBUY Swoozies

Have y'all heard of Swoozies? If not lemme fill ya in....the name alone is TOO fun right? Go ahead say it (not in your head -out LOUD)....it's was a fun tongue in cheek preppy monogram heaven. They had paper and invites galore, monograms, you want monograms they had 20 (does anyone get that I was typing that to the tune of The Little Mermaid....thingamabobs I've got 20....) fun paper napkins, etc. Anyway, I read on Katie's blog @ Harrington House that she went to her store and they were going outta business...I called my Swoozies and they had 4 days to go....ooooh....sad :(

I picked up some FAB brown zebra print napkins, a sterling silver charm bracelet with several monogram charms that'll be going on Ebay as none of them are mine) and this....

FUN FAB colored beach pool bag (and perfect timing as vacay is just around the corner) BUT fab can always be FAB-er (I know I know, not a real word but in my dictionary it is)

So I gathered my supplies (a crown printed out from the net and a sharpie....originally I was going to paint BUT that left too much room for error on my part)
Traced the crown and simply colored in (I needed my carpal tunnel / crafter brace afterwards BUT think it came out great)
Don't you agree?

I wanna be like 9 by Design!

I ADORE Bob and Courtny's style! Edgy, fun, sophisticated and funky! I LOVE that they push the envelope! I am adopting more of that philosophy and being true to my design style at my shop. If you haven't seen the show, check it out here http://www.bravotv.com/9-by-design. In the season finale on Tuesday they had a grapevine wreath that had a peace sign in the center - it was so awesome! (I tried to find a pic but no luck) The moment I saw it I KNEW I had to try my hand at one...so off to Goodwill I went in search of CHEAP grapevine wreaths...

Then I got my tools ready....

Disassembled the larger thin wreath for my "parts"

BUT then I needed a straight stick....hmmmm, where can I find one of those? My dead rose bush of course!
aahhh, the vision coming to fruition.....
This is the day I wish I had a white door.....then you could see the wreath so much better....

As we all know one project leads to another.....

My Porch BEFORE.....
AFTER....implementing my new garage sale find (I didn't take the hook off the basket cuz I am not sure it's staying there and if it does I will re-plant in a terracotta pot that I have)

I want y'all to know that use what you have also works in the garden....

I had these urns with 1/2 dead ferns, so I split the living ferns between the two pots dug up some Rumex (the green and red veined "spike") and some snapdragons that were growing katewompus and VIOLA! I have 2 cute free planters!
