Homekeeping

Now that the shop is up and running I have a lil time to get back to homekeeping....I have missed that! While I wish we had a line to hang our drawers to dry, we are not allowed in the community we live in SO, all the clothes head to the dryer with dryer sheets (that I cut into thirds so the fabric softener distributes a lil more evenly AND I can save a few dollars by not having to use several sheets per load). All that was the back story to the actual 'homekeeping'....so after the clothes come out we have all these dryer sheet strips that usually go in the garbage UNTIL one day I got a fab idea to use one for this....

Cleaning the 'soot' off my glass candle holders. It worked like a DREAM!

Then to the fridge I went....LOVE the look of stainless BUT with 2 kids it's a pain to keep clean, so once I tackled that I went into the fridge. To corral the loose fruits and veggies I do this...

Put then in glass dishes, that way they don't roll all over the drawer! My veggie drawer is happy :)
Momma Robin was doing a lil homekeeping herself!

The babies 'flew the nest' on Friday.

On Being a Mother....

....I am SO far behind in life BUT didn't want to miss a chance to talk about being a mom, kids and life! I know I am a week late BUT I really wanted to blog about this....First HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all the mom's, mom's to be, aunts, grandma's, great grandma's and special women! This year I celebrated with 2 families -my own and my boyfriends family....it was a whirlwind day but thoroughly enjoyed!

Flowers from the kids and my guy! My VERY FAVORITE, tulips!

Breakfast with the boyfriend's mom and sis's fam and flower shopping with my mom and Maya. Every year my mom and I flower shop -it's become a tradition! Unfortunately I didn't take but a few pictures. But the memories are locked up tight in my heart! While out flower shopping with mom I fond this FAB coral colored impatient hanging basket (I've never seen them in this particular color before. I am so excited because at the new house the garden colors will be peachy corals and hot pinks).

My sweet children gave me a homemade soap heart made with their own lil hands and on top was this....

MOTHER

"M" is for the Million things she gave me
"O" means only that she's old
"T" is for the tears she shed for me
"H" is for her heart of purest gold
"E" is for her eyes of love-light shining
"R" mean right, and right she will always be

Put them all together, they spell
"Mother" a word that means the world to me

Now tell me, is there a dry eye (well except for that "O" old comment)....she went on-line and found saying for mom, grandma and aunt and put them on top of all our packages - she's 10! and about the sweetest most helpful child you'd ever meet. She's the girl a kid want to know on their first day of school as she will take you under her wing, she's the daughter I am blessed to have, who always helps me out! I know as a BUSY mother I don't always take the time to tell my kids how much they mean to me, but I am making a conscious effort to change all that! Don't let a day go by without hugging your child, or telling them you love them or that they've done a good job!

Even my niece got in on the gift giving action and got me my fave candy! Mint Meltaways from Fannie May!

Hope everyone had a GREAT day!

I Get By With a Lil Help From My Friends

The Grand Opening was such a great day! I truly made my dreams come true that day. It was so wonderful to have the support of family and friends! For everyone who made it out thank you! Those of you who couldn't but wanted to were DEFINTELY there in spirit. My sister was one of those there in spirit as a 2 hour commute EACH WAY with 2 kids under 3 would be C R A Z Y! But she sent me fabulous tulips with a sweet note! This has been a dream a long time in the making! I am grateful for the customers who stopped in and welcomed me -what a GREAT way to start my business!

"Congratulations on making your dream come true. Love, Stephanie"

Dad, Me and Mom
Even though dad was under the weather, they still made the journey (and they had the kids the night before so I could focus on finishing up at the store and wait, there's more, mom made the aprons from SCRATCH that the kids have on in the above picture).
"Good Luck on your new adventure :) Love Maya and Miguel"

Friends traveled from near and FAR....it took the Weimar's about 2 hours to get there AND they brought COOKIES
Me and Deanna (oh Hailey, where were you in this pic?) who also commuted about 2 hours.

Carol, Chris and Ricky, we didn't get a pic -what happened?!?

COME OUT and see me at the PEC Thing at the Winnebago County Fairgrounds this weekend. TONS of vendors of various types, food and fun! Saturday and Sunday from 8-5 pm. I am Space # 613

GRAND OPENING!!

TA-DA! Here is my labor of love.....

Care for a snack? I added the zebra and leopard paper to the water bottles....
Thankfully I had a lil help getting the "cash wrap" home....mom and dad's truck brought it home from the estate sale and the boyfriends truck brought it to the shop!
This way to the Beach....

"Nothing is Impossible, for the word says I'M POSSIBLE" ~Audrey Hepburn

JUST saw a hanging lamp like the shades I have shown here in the Ballard catalog (these are a STEAL! If interested, email me!).
Believe it or not EVERYTHING (except that cash wrap buffet) you saw above was brought out in several trips in a Pontiac G6.....I think I need to be a spokesperson for ALL the room the G6 has (when you pack correctly). In addition I "did it without my husband" which was a HUGE feat for me. You see, I have some great ideas BUT am a horrible (straight) hanger of pictures and shelves.... I have overcome that! Lifted and carried each item into the shop myself.....I did it! Almost dropped an organ carrying in a cement urn, but I did it! With each item and each accomplishment, I felt even more empowered! AS the above quote by Audrey says, I'M POSSIBLE!!
I linked up here....

To see all the possabilities!
