MANIC MONDAY....Using a #SHARPIE to change your THROW PILLOWS

I will start by saying I have always LOATHED the color pink (too girly, everyone girl loves pink, don't wanna be like the masses, blah blah blah) and then SUDDENLY I started liking pops of pink! Bright pink, purple-y pink...I even am adding touches here and there to my decor for the summer - GASP. I have a large vintage sofa which allows me to have large throw pillows (and many throw pillows which is a HAPPY thing). in fact 3 of my pillows are euro squares....I bought these FAB cases at Macy's 3 years ago....they are reversible (one side is teal with gold accents 

and that why I REALLY bought the pillows) BUT then I realized I could flip them to THIS side for summer....

 I wanted pillows with a pop of pink....I've looked briefly and not found any euro shams that tripped my trigger....SO the other morning I decided to try adding a few pink stripes to my "summer side" and see if I liked it (Kinda a bold move but WHY NOT?!?!?!)

I DID like it

So I kept going.....

It's a longer tedious process than I imagined....I'll post an before and after AFTER I finish!! My daughter thinks I'm crazy and my son said "I really like what you've done here" I HEART my boy -he is my kindred spirit!!!

A DAY IN THE LIFE....

A new #Homegoods opened near me....Had to check it out - it's GLORIOUS!!! So beautiful and JUST what this area needed!!! Everywhere I go I find inspiration...this tiered wooden caddy can easily be duplicated with the RIGHT pieces....hmmm....I'm thinking I should be a PERSONAL shopper - that would be an AWESOME job!!!

When it's nice I take my work lunch outside (which is PURE torture when lunch time's over and I have to go back in)

Ever the cre8tive life....coffee dyed filters for a future project (I KNOW I could already buy the natural ones BUT I had over 300 of the white filters SO it just seemed prudent to DIY it)

We each made a "Summer Bucker List" we were trying to do 100 things for the 100 days of summer - harder than it sounds!!! I'm still 52 short!!!

Let go and let God is my phrase of the week...when things seem insurmountable give it up to God....HE has a plan....we may not know it, get it or understand....and sometimes we aren't supposed to know the why's

FOODIE FRIDAY.....NECTARINES and CARROTS and a Bushel Basket for a #momonabudget

Have y'all been to the grocery store lately?!??! I think golden chickens are laying eggs (a dozen eggs in my neck o'the woods is $3.99 - WHAT?!?!?! I mean I know there was that bird flu and all but really?!?!?). I have been meal planning and sometimes basing meals around what's on sale for the week....it's the ONLY way to make my budget stretch. My daughter and I popped into Valli Produce for some pea pods (I wanted to add them to my beef stir fry) and we saw a HUGE cart of reduced produce (this is ALWAYS worth checking to me because we can freeze soup or chili fixins and sometimes it's just an EXCESS on their part BUT a score for the consumer). 

For example....this entire bushel basket of nectarines was $1.50 as were the 3 bags of baby carrots - $1.50 for 2 bags!!!! My daughter eats them like candy and IF I can get to them I will freeze a few for future batches of soup

THESE particular items were PERFECTLY good and I believe the majority of the nectarines are gone (my son has been saving the pits because he wants to plant a nectarine tree!!)

Ah yes, I mentioned a bushel basket right?!??! 

I had to run into Michael's for some crafters crack (ie E600 glue) and I can't resist looking around and I spotted this ADORABLE perfectly turquoise bushel basket....picked it up and it was marked .69!! WHAT the WHAT WHAT?!?!? GET OUT!!! I held tight to that lil baby all thru the store!! (doesn't my thrifty produce look fancy in it?!?!? Imagine come fall with mini pumpkins and gourds)

Celebrated my baby's "10"th birthday.....Homemade chocolate raspberry filled cake....

Circus themed party (got rained out outside SO my sweet family brought it all in, dried it off and re-set it up)

Talked about THIS project Monday....

Went to the town's Memorial Day Parade (THIS is the car my son wants - he has GOOD taste)

Made homemade egg rolls and won-tons (we don't like the cream cheese filling)
