HALLOWEEN Decor

I can't believe October is here ALREADY!! I LOVE fall - the cooler weather, the warming scents, boots and sweaters, holiday decorating....it's just a lil harder when life starts unraveling at the seams...I'm not going to get into all that now or here BUT that is the reason for my absence. BUT alas, wait no more - Halloween decor is here!!

My front door is pretty simple this year...NO bales of hay for me (disposing it last year after the season was a real hassle). I added the wreath I LUSTED after from Target (I was so HAPPY when I was able to get it at half off the day after Halloween 4 years ago).
IF you are looking for pumpkin ideas I linked up to THIS blog http://www.aswellplacetodwell.com/2013/10/pumpkin-parade-link-party.html because she's having a Pumpkin Parade!!
Here you will see the evolution of a buffet (I will warn you ahead of time - a lego maniac has taken over the living room!! Hence all the lego creations in the background). I cleared off the buffet (leaving the black runner) and added the lace spider web table cloth...

I KNEW my theme would be candy (I LOVE buying orange and black and halloweeny treats to display and eat). To the left you will see a layered jar (dry black beans in the bottom, a layer of candy corn and dry white beans on top - a CUTE look but a pain to seperate at the end of the season....maybe most would just throw away and get new every year - but I am uber thrifty). I placed my vintage wax ghost candle on top and added the vintage orange ghost candle to a mercury glass pillar holder for height.
I continued to add lil paper vintage-esque candy containers that I picked up at various thrift stores (some originally being from Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware). This paper cone I got at Marshall's a few years ago for a SONG - $2.00 folks!!
I used a metal wreath stand to display the paper cone....
The giant candy corns are a craft project from a few years ago...simply yarn and topiaries from the Dollar tree....

In my china hutch I popped in a few scary skulls and I'm sticking a fork in it and calling it done! The black and white theme I already had going played nicely into halloween!!

The tassel banner is from my daughters volleyball themed birthday party and carried over well into Halloween...the "wicked" banner was made by running vintage book pages through my printer, gluing onto cardstock and hanging over twine - easy peasy!
This lil cutie greets you at the door as you're ready to leave...A funkin I spray painted white, popped on a metal stand, added a witches hat and some ribbon - DONE!

The witch pumpkin has to be my favorite! What a fun idea!

Thanks for linking up to the Pumpkin Parade!
