Try it Thursday Paper Book Covers

I'm sure you remember doing this in grade school....making blah paper book covers...Funny how NOW I can appreciate the simplicity!!

Step One: Gather your supplies...paper bags (imagine how FUN fancy designer bags would be...as I type this I am thinking about a plaid Coach paper bag that I got years ago and it ripped..but I saved it...now where is that darn bag?!??! ) books - as you can see there are many vibrant colors in my pile!! And yes, those are directions on how to make a paper bag book cover from my daughters school....I am impressed I was able to follow the directions (I am more of a visual person)

If your bag has handles - carefully remove them!

The other day at the thrift Maya picked up this book for me...are you familiar with "The Girls Guide at how to be the best at Everything"? It's a cute lil tip book that my daughter got a few Christmases ago....I can't wait to sink my teeth in and find out how to be the best!! (while being pulled in a million directions)

Here is my book shelf BEFORE:

AND...the AFTER!!

Isn't it incredible how DIFFERENT it looks?!?! The muted colors on the books allow for uniformity in the gold accessories which were spray painted here http://objectofmayaffection.blogspot.com/2012/04/unlikely-golden-wishes.html and here http://objectofmayaffection.blogspot.com/2012/04/golden-goose.html
What is YOUR favorite under and hour project that makes a HUGE difference?

I also have that pink book of Comfort & Joy! But somehow I never finished reading it. :)

My favorite "handiwork" is covering cardboard boxes with pretty wrapping papers so I can use them for containers. I got used paper cardboard boxes from the office after people used up all the papers. :)

Thank you for your kind comment on my blog. I hope you'll swing by again soon!
